Mr. Gonzalez

Hello! My name is Logan Gonzalez and I am the Assistant Band Director for the Levi Fry Stingaree Band program here in Texas City ISD. I was born and raised not too far from Texas City in La Porte, Texas, where I graduated from La Porte High School.

After High School, I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where I graduated Suma Cum Laude receiving a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. During my time at SFA I was a part of many performing ensembles including the Lumberjack Marching Band, Swingin' Aces Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Roarin' Buzzsaws Pep Band. The four years I spent immersed in the beautiful scenery of Nacogdoches will always be my most cherished memories. I had the pleasure of meeting lifelong friends while also gaining an excellent education to give back to the world. Axe'em Jacks!

Ever since my mom gifted me an iPod all the way back in 3rd grade I was enthralled with music. If you were to ask any of my family members or good friends, they would tell you that there is never a time I am not listening to music. I am a firm believer that music has the power to express feelings and emotions that words alone cannot, and that was the seed that sprouted into my love for teaching Band. The directors that I was blessed to have in high school showed me just how much fun there is in music making and also gave me my first shot at teaching others. After proving to myself that I could teach others the joys of music, I knew what my career was going to be!

During my last semester at SFA I had the great opportunity to get a paid student-teaching position in Galena Park ISD. It was there I finally got to get experience teaching the little ones and I immediately fell in love with it. Thanks to my time there I was able to hone my craft and decide on the future, which lead me straight to Texas City! After graduating from SFA in 2023 and many interviews later, I became the Assistant Band Director here at Levi Fry!
