Mr. Guerrero
Hello, my name is Brandon Guerrero and I am the Head Band Director for the Levi Fry Stingaree Band program in Texas City ISD. I am a proud graduate of Uvalde High School in Uvalde, Texas where I was born and raised and where my parents still reside today.

I attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas where I received a Bachelor's degree in Music with my teaching certification. While attending University I was a part of many musical organizations including the Concert Winds, Jazz Orchestra, Chamber Brass, Rattler Pep Band and the St. Mary's Choir. I will always cherish my years on the beautiful St. Mary's campus and appreciate all the opportunities and experiences that I could not have gotten anywhere else. Fangs Out!

Throughout high school I had a strong passion for the academics and leaned heavily towards science curriculum which led me to believe I was meant to be a physician to help better people's health. After the summer of my freshman year of college I was a group counselor for a summer theater program where I realized my true calling to teach. I felt that it came naturally to me and that with my advanced levels of patience I was able to achieve success with student groups and boost their confidence in the performance world. This ultimately led to my choice to purse music and teaching as my career.

I taught in San Antonio ISD my first year of teaching where I was a General Music teacher for K-5 and also a choir director for 6th graders. I moved down to Del Rio, Texas in the Fall of 2018 where I taught General Music and directed an elementary Honor's Choir. In the summer of 2019 I planned to come back to Del Rio and teach General Music for another year but received an offer to become a Band Director which was the true career path I had been aiming to pursue.

Fall 2019 I moved to Texas City ISD where I became the Head Band director at La Marque Middle School, now known as Giles Middle School, and I learned a lot and gained experience with the struggles of building a program, especially as the pandemic hit and we had to start over from scratch after mass quarantine. After 2 years of directing in La Marque I made the decision to move over to Levi Fry Intermediate under the Texas City Band program and I will forever be grateful of the decision and those that led me towards Levi Fry!
